IMO, the music of Christendom, even once it had been blown to pieces, should make an honest man admit that Christendom compared to the other 'great' cultures was like a mature, manly man among uncoordinated, uneducated boys. Did any non-Christian culture produce even one musician like Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and on and on and on...then there are the composers of sacred music. No, music alone sets Christendom apart in kind, not just degree.
What a fantastic song from John Martyn. I used to be his postman way back in the early nineties. A really nice man with loads of stories to tell. May You Never is my favourite song of his.
